Child Safety

We work to make children safer.

Pictures 2 Protect® Photo ID Cards

Lifetouch Canada provides two complimentary Pictures 2 Protect photo ID cards annually to the families of each elementary, middle, and high school student photographed in participating schools, at no extra cost.  We are proud to announce our collaboration with the Canadian Centre for Child Protection, one of Canada's leading experts in child protection.  The Pictures 2 Protect photo ID cards are a convenient and complimentary child safety program for your families to aid police or media when searching for a lost or missing child.

200,000 families are served each year with Pictures 2 Protect photo ID cards

1.2 Million Pictures 2 Protect ID cards have been donated since 2005

How the program works:

  • Two safety ID cards are produced for each student photographed - even if they don't purchase portraits. Cards help authorities start an accurate, on-site search the moment a child is missing.
  • If a child is missing, parents can request through the Canadian Centre for Child Protection that a Lifetouch portrait of their child be provided to aid search efforts. Lifetouch will respond on a 24/7 basis to aid search efforts. Private, secured system requires parent permission and law enforcement verification prior to image release by Lifetouch.

MissingKids.ca

Lifetouch Canada is proud to be one of the founding funders of MissingKids.ca, along with CIBC, CWTA and Google. The Canadian Centre for Child Protection launched MissingKids.ca on May 24, 2011 to assist in the location of missing children, provide education materials to help prevent children from going missing, offer information and a response centre on missing children and coordinate efforts of stakeholders in the delivery of missing children services.

Child Find Canada

Lifetouch Canada helps support this mission by donating printing services like missing children posters. These posters are displayed in public places throughout the country to help bring children safely home.
